We as students are not an exception and a good majority of us must have sorted out an answer taking into account of personal benefits, parental pressure, elderly advice or even peer talk.Now, we would like you to review that answer, with a clear and independent mind. Your answer may be a good one, or will be good as no one would like to destroy himself, his society, his country, unless he is not a man. But the fact is that you are standing at a junction with many roads, all leading to your answer.You are lost here, and be aware that anyone can mislead you.This is were SIO has its role to play.

Unlike any other student organization, Student's Islamic Organization has been playing the phenominal role of guiding students to a path that leads to victory not only here, but in the here-after also.
Redefining education, regaining struggle and renovating society, a slogan which SIO has tried to uphold for more than quarter of a century, century of existence and activity in this country.SIO has tried in fact to imbibe into the student community a culture that is at loss among the youth of today, a culture where he, as a student, is not only aware of his rights but of his duties also,his duties to himself, his family, his society and to the whole world. It is a culture where he fights for his rights constructively and not destructively. It is a culture where he tries to bring the depressed and the down-trodden to the top, and not stamping them down to more depths. And it is the culture where he believes that as this world was left fit for him to live by his predecessors, he has to leave the same world fit to live for his successors. SIO believes that this culture will be imparted only through right education.SIO redefines education as a mean to become a complete and perfect human, than as a mean to attain a good carrier. Please don't think that SIO is opposed to your efforts to achieve a prosperous career.SIO always promotes such efforts, surely it is one of the important goals of education, but it is not the only one and not the most important.In the mean time, he may have to struggle, against the wrong doings, struggle to straighten up the deviated course, of himself or of his society. And education is also meant to regain that struggle.SIO believes that as the transformation of a student into a dutiful citizen is complete, he has become a constructive element of the society he lives in. An element who can guide his society to the right end and through the right path.
Why 'Islamic'?
The belief in the Almighty, in the order he created, has given SIO and its workers the strength and moral backbone to stay firm with truth, to stay stern against evil and to work with determination towards academic excellence. Why 'Islamic'?
Some of you might be wondering as to what 'Islamic' signifies in SIO. Surely, it is the most controversial word in the world today, a word whose mere mention evokes fear. Why? Do anyone fear of peace? The word 'Islam' stands for peace. We do understand that this situation resulted from the unkindly and inhuman acts of some anti-social elements. A Muslim cannot comply with such acts and Islam strongly condemns such deeds. Islam do not afford extremism or liberalism, neither in thoughts nor in action. Islam is a life style ,more than just a religion. It is a life style pertaining to a certain order. Every element of the universe follow this order, which is designed and maintained by The One, The Almighty.In this view point the Sun, the Moon, the stars, the planets, the trees and the animals, who all follow this order, bringing harmony and peace to the universe, are Muslims. In the same way every man is born as Muslim.But later he has a choice, as he was gifted with intelligence, the power to discriminate. Using this power he was required to choose one of the two paths. He can select the path which follows the order and which obeys its designer, he stays as a Muslim. Else he can act on his own, not complying to the order, and he stays as a man.As such Islam denounces all activities by anyone, which leads to a breach of the order, and eventually to the disruption of peace and harmony. Thus, SIO, working towards building a responsible society feels it right to declare itself as Islamic, and we are proud of it. Now, you might be having another doubt regarding an Islamist. You might have conjured an Islamist as a man clad in white and white, with a long and untidy beard, a Qur'an in his right hand (perhaps with a sword in his left hand too). Well, you are not to be blamed. Such was the anti-Islamic western propaganda. An Islamist is not detained from pursuing the chores of modern life, provided it does not violate the principles and ideals of Islam.
Is it an Islamic organization?
We admit that the answer to this question can be a little tough for you to understand, if you do not belong to the Muslim community. As we have said already, Islam is a life style, a right path to the right end, and as such it will be an act of injustice if only Muslims enjoyed it. But, history has cast its light on Islam's introduction as a guidance not only to Muslims, but to the whole mankind. At this point, you have to understand that no one is a Muslim by birth, but by his life. The Muslim community was entitled with a mission to propagate the message of Islam to the world, it is their duty. As such, we agree that SIO is an Islamic organization.
I'm not a Muslim, why should I join?
As said above, as Islam is not for only Muslims but for the mankind, SIO is an Islamic organization with a broader outlook and structure, with cultural and political aspects as well. SIO aims at transforming the students into responsible citizens for an ideal society. SIO finds itself committed to impart genuine knowledge and awareness to students and getting them ready to become torchlights of morality and fighters against evils by reinforcing their own life. The organization will also strive for promoting moral values in educational system and better academic and moral atmosphere in educational institutions and to nurture the talents of students in such a way as to benefit the society. SIO feels that students should be actively involved in issues not only related to the student community, but in those issues related to the society as well. SIO believes it is the duty of the student community to preserve the air, the water and the land of this world for the generations to come. If you believe in these principles, then you can surely find a space in SIO, still retaining your identity. Together, we can surely attain unparalleled heights in our mission.
